This is my favourite route up Mt. Godfrey.  I think the view of Lake Superior from just over half way up is one of the best I’ve seen.

From Mission Road follow the signs to the Mt. McKay Lookout.  Park in the campground lot just before the Mt McKay Lookout toll booth.  Walk up the road toward the Mt McKay Lookout just past the toll booth and take the trail immediately on the left.

Follow this trail and stay right at the fork found at about the 200 m mark.  At 1 km from the start of the trail you will find a grassy clearing with some large pine trees.  Look for orange flag tape on the North side marking the beginning of the trail to the top.  Follow this trail across a creek and then up the steep incline to the top.  Return the way you came.

    Pretty good hike.
If you go in pairs or with others make sure to keep some distance from eachother
as much of this climb is loose rock and a few good size rocks rolled down after us.
    View is awesome!

Thanks to those ribboning and maintaining the trail.
A good alternative to paying 5$ for a less adventurous hike
up Mt. Mckay but with most the same scenery
