This is a wayside rest stop with an amazing view, and it is more of a hike in the winter than in the summer. In the winter the road is not open and you need to hike up from the highway. In the summer you can drive up for the view.
Round-Trip: 1 km
Difficulty: Easy
Location: Nipigon, ON
From Thunder Bay drive East on Hwy 11/17 for 128 km and look for the road on the lakeside just past the Kama Road and the Jackpine River.
Drive up to the parking area or park at the side of the highway in the winter and walk up to the parking area. There is a sheer cliff on the other side of the fencing and a geocache hidden nearby. This is a great spot to take pictures of the fall colours and a good spot to stop while you are driving through, or are in the area hiking Upper Kama or Lower Kama trails.
Is there room to park a 37 foot RV at the parking lot or can we live it on the side of the highway?
