Location: Bruce Mines, ON
This is a fun hike to the top for a gorgeous view. This hike is not long but it is up the whole way, and totally worth it! Do not do this hike when it is the least bit wet as the lichen covered rock is dangerously slippery.
From Bruce Mines drive north on Hwy 638 for 12km. Turn left onto Nethery Road. Park out of the way near the cemetery so you are not in the way of big trucks going into the gravel pit at the end of the road.
Facing the cemetary follow the chain fence to the right (east) where you will find that you are on the Voyageur Trail flagged with white markers. Follow this trail for just a few feet and take a left at the first intersection. Someone has marked it with orange flag tape. Follow the orange flagged trail to the north until you come out onto the open area of bare rock and can see the cross way up on top of the hill. There is no more marked trail from here so you can pick your own route to the top and explore the great views. Find your way back down to the orange flag tape and go back out the way you came in.
If you are a rock climber this is a fun spot for bouldering. It is super easy to access and there are lots of fun little boulder problems around the base on the east side. It’s not high but the quality of the rock is so good.
I couldn’t find a reference to this place online or anyone who know what it was really called, so I made up my own name. If you do know what this spot is really called please let me know in the comments below.
