Hike to the 50-foot Partridge Falls and take a step back in history.
Round-trip: 1 km
Difficulty: Easy
Location: Grand Portage, MN
This is an easy hike to a 50-foot waterfall. There is lots of history here. I have been told that the campsite at the top of the falls and the portage have been used at least since voyageur days.
From Hwy 61 turn onto Mineral Center Road (County Road 72) and then north on Partridge Falls Road. Drive to the end of Partridge Falls Road where you will see a small abandoned cabin. Park near the cabin. Find the trail to the East and follow it to the falls.
Please note: Hunting season on the Grand Portage Reservation begins in early August, if you will be hiking anywhere on the reservation from August through November you should wear blaze orange when on any trail.
